Sticklepath Lane
The last few years have seen a much increased availability of ready to run components and this has rekindled an old interest in OO9. I wanted to build a small, simple layout which used some of these RTR parts and could be built by someone new to railway modelling as a first layout. Of the various ‘pizza’ type layouts, I’ve always been struck by ‘Hobbs Row Halt’ and this is a development of that style, with the triangle and station sidings allowing more operating potential.
I chose a rural setting of a West Country general carrier in the late Edwardian era as I’m familiar with the Devon/Dorset border area and I liked the idea of modelling an earlier era than usual. Still under construction, we’re happy to chat about scenery and layout construction and the advantages of narrow gauge.
