Narrow Gauge North

2024

A 009 layout by Peter Leadley (Hull Miniature Railway Society)
Scale: 4mm / ft.
Gauge: 9mm (‘009’)

Based during a hot summer in the early part of the 21st Century, the layout represents a narrow gauge tourist attraction that has been built by volunteers mainly on the old track bed of a now defunct standard gauge branch line somewhere in England.  The area modelled is a through station where the trains can pass as the line is supposedly single throughout its length apart from some passing loops and at stations.  There is a small engine shed/workshop located in the station area so locomotives and stock can be changed if required.  The line runs alongside a river at this point so there is activity as the tourist not only sample the delights of the railway, but also the leisure facilities that are associated with the river side.  The leisure interests are further enhanced with the riding school located nearby.

Please feel free to ask any questions about the layout or 009 modelling in general, whoever is operating will do their best to provide you with an answer.
